CAPSES is comprised of nonpublic schools, agencies, organizations and individuals who specialize in the delivery of private special education school services.  We welcome our new members in supporting our mission to promote the delivery of quality special education instruction and services in private and public education sectors.

Arch Academy is a private, comprehensive, college prep school that serves a population of students who desire a learning environment that is motivating, engaging, self-directed and where they can be immersed with a peer group of similar like-minded individuals. The school serves K through 12th-grade students.

The student is the focus of The Arch Academy. The goal of the school is to maximize the potential of each student and enable the giftedness that is unrealized in each student to emerge and flourish. Students have access to individualized academic curricula and participate in rigorous daily athletic activities. As with many schools for bright, creative students, there is a social/emotional component present at Arch as part of their academic education.

When you need options for your child’s school placement, one of our Foundations Academy programs may be right for you. Many students come to us with significant learning challenges due to learning disabilities and/or social-emotional challenges that have made learning in a more traditional setting frustrating or unsuccessful.  So we get to the root of the problem to help them find success.

No two students have exactly the same needs or learning style. That’s why we create an individual learning plan for every child. We combine small-group work and 1-1 specialized training for intensive educational and therapeutic interventions carefully selected for your student. Curriculum and specialized programs are determined by specific assessments and evaluations, with ongoing monitoring, and positive reinforcement.

Foundations Academy is intended as a short-term placement and intervention. Students generally attend for one to two years to build the foundational, academic, and social skills needed to help them to return to their neighborhood school or their school of choice. The experience and services at Banyan Tree will be life-changing, for students and their families.

Beach Cities was founded by Dan Campbell, a credentialed teacher with over 20 years of public education service.  As a former program specialist in charge of overseeing high school special education programs, he was able to see first-hand the difficulty schools were facing educating nontraditional learners.  Dan has always believed that although most teachers did an admirable job in the classroom, many students did not learn well in traditional institutions. Students do not always respond to the assembly line nature of most institutions. He believes that a child's strengths and natural ability need to be the foundation of learning.

At Beach Cities Learning Center, your child is seen as an individual, and natural strengths are identified and built upon. All of our staff subscribe to the same philosophy. Our teachers are experienced and go through a rigorous screening process before joining our team.

Beach Cities Learning Center is a WASC Accredited school that focuses on building confidence, motivation, focus, and problem-solving skills. Teachers share successful strategies with students so they can succeed on their own. Our friendly, warm, and enthusiastic teachers create a safe and supportive atmosphere for your child. Beach Cities Learning Center is committed to helping students achieve their educational goals.
