About Sam & Rose Stein Education Center
The Sam and Rose Stein Education Center serves students, ages 5 to 22, who have moderate to severe disabilities, including autism, cognitive disabilities, emotional disturbances and behavioral challenges. The program provides highly individualized instruction to each student, including language development, functional academics, community based instruction, and structured social skills along with behavioral training. Speech and Occupational Therapy services, Work training with job opportunities and individualized Transition planning are integral parts of the program. Close monitoring of the progress of students is achieved through frequent reviews of each student's growth by a multi-disciplinary team. The staff creates specially designed activities to expand the life opportunities of the students, along with providing some fun, and encourages student participation in a positive way; some of the many activities available are a modified sports league, a holiday show, an international food fair, and the Walkathon.
