North Valley Schools are the education programs operated under the auspices of VTC. Our special education schools for children with emotional and developmental challenges operate in close partnership with our local communities and our residential treatment services. North Valley Schools provides non-public special education services to children with serious emotional, behavioral and educational needs. With a history exceeding 30 years, NVS has demonstrated a track record of superior success. We are certified by the California Department of Education and all of our schools are accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). Our non-public schools serve youth who are living in residential treatment as well as youth who are living in family settings in the community. All North Valley School students are placed as a result of experiencing serious educational challenges and/or multiple school failures in lower levels of educational service. The school's purpose is to provide an education that promotes independence, understanding, and personal responsibility for each student. North Valley Schools provides these services to both boys and girls who have primary handicapping conditions of Emotional Disturbance (ED), Specific Learning Disability (SLD), Autism (AUT), Multiple Disability (MD), Other Health Impairment (OHI), and Intellectual Disability (ID). Services are provided to students grades 1 to 12.
