About Urban Skills Center

Urban Skills Center is a California Department of Education certified nonpublic, non-sectarian school that is part of The Institute for Effective Education's family of schools. The school is SEVP-Certified and can enroll foreign students who qualify for I-20 status. The Urban Skills Center teaches approximately 50 young adults to achieve their maximum potential as members of the community.  All students acquire important Social, Vocational and Independent Living Skills that are designed to optimize their post-school employment and living options.  For students needing additional time to complete their high school diplomas, the courses necessary to achieve this are also offered. Urban Skills Center is WASC accredited and offers academic courses that fufill the University of California's a-g requirements.
