Measles cases are on the rise in the United States.  According to a San Jose Mercury News article, Twenty-two states have reported nearly 700 measles cases.  In California, four separate outbreaks have been reported in 2019.  Eleven counties have reported cases for a total of 38 confirmed measles cases.  The County of Los Angeles issued a news release on April 22, 2019, that states the chance of measles expose is on the increase and urged residents to get measles immunization.

Schools and child care centers are asked to help in the prevention of the spread of measles by following a measles reference for schools and child care centers issued by the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health. The guide can be found here:  Addressing Schools ’Concerns About Measles
